I’m Kie (pronounced like “pie” but with a “K!”), a Hoosier calling southern Indiana home for the last 18 years. I’ve graduated from here, married my high school sweetheart, and now have two wonderful daughters. Having spent over ten years as an insurance agent, COVID happened, which led me to look for something new and luckily find NO-BS Marketplace based out of Australia. What I lacked in SEO knowledge to start, I made up for with my decades of experience working with businesses, finding their pain points in insurance and coming up with creative solutions that were easy for them to understand.
SEO/Digital marketing, just like insurance, is loaded with weird terms and phrases that most don’t understand unless they’re fully drinking the Kool-Aid. With NO-BS, our name is quite literally our motto…having no-BS in everything we do, which was the same approach I took when speaking about insurance, and what made NO-BS a perfect fit for me! We pull the curtain back so you can see what the little green wizard (in this case, Google) is doing and empower you with helpful knowledge to hopefully start understanding this industry more than when you started.
I coach Cross-Country at Charlestown Middle School and co-founded Pirate Run Club, a local 501(c)(3) running club for ages 5 to 18. I’m a huge movie/show enthusiast (as you probably caught from above), so be prepared for me to ask what your favorite is too! I’m a boomer trapped in a millennial’s body with a child’s sense of humor, making my outlook on life be determined if I’ve had a snack and afternoon nap!

NO-BS Marketplace is currently a powerhouse in the digital marketing industry, but that wasn’t the case a decade ago. Where did it all start, and how did this agency grow to what it is today?
2014: The Birth Of Studio 56
Our journey began in 2014 when Aaron and Tristan Gray found Studio 56. This digital agency provided SEO and targeted web services to help businesses in Melbourne increase their local traffic.
Running this company gave the founders new ideas. They discovered that most of their clients’ digital marketing problems had a common denominator: link-building.
2016: Mobilizing An Outreach Team
As Aaron and Tristan tested different solutions for these emerging link building issues, they noticed another pattern. Missed deadlines and the inability to review publisher links on time made it challenging to deliver A-rated services.
This called for the scaling of their internal team. The brothers trained a set of link building campaign experts, leading to yet another idea – selling their services directly to agencies and affiliates.
They implemented this idea, and it showed positive results. However, the founders quickly realized that their current resources wouldn’t meet the rising demands. The solution: investing in modern and better technology to automate some processes.
2017: The NO-BS Platform Emerges
The company invested in substantial technology development to help take service delivery to the next level. In 2017, the NO-BS Marketplace platform went live and generated over $500,000 in sales. Seeing their company grow at a rate of +10% per month forced Aaron and Tristan to scale their in-house team further. More writers and outreach experts joined the team.
2019: Platform Upgrade
With better services and more staff members on board, the NO-BS Marketplace client base continued to surge. This rapid growth prompted an urgent platform upgrade, a project that required $100,000 and six months to complete.
The same year, a new office in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, became operational. With the ongoing in-house expansions, the company also launched account management services.
2020: Total Growth
For many people, 2020 is a year to forget. But for NO-BS Marketplace, this is when the company’s potential came to life. It experienced 100% revenue growth, necessitating further in-house scaling. The founders opened a new office in Melbourne and increased the number of staff members.
2021: Content and SEO Services Go Live
The company expanded its services to cater for more digital marketing clients. It launched content and SEO solutions, bringing more affordable and scalable options.
2024: Opening US Hubs
2024 was the beginning of another growth phase for NO-BS Marketplace. The company opened new hubs in various US cities, including, but not limited to, Nashville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Columbus, Atlanta and Louisville. This ensured that clients in these cities received better and more personalized solutions and customer support.
