The Gray brothers founded Studio 56, which would later become the foundation from which NO-BS Marketplace would be built. It was your standard digital marketing service catering to small and medium enterprises in the Melbourne area. However, as they progressed, they discovered the limitations within the SEO industry hindered the delivery of services.

Aaron and Tristan learned the major source of their frustrations was the inability to assess a link’s quality before it went live. Because of this, they decided to form their own professional team and train its members in this capability. They included agencies in their target clientele after various consultations.

The team enjoyed initial successes, such as their AUD$50,000 sale on the SEO forum site Black Hat World, but soon realized they couldn’t keep up with the sheer volume of orders. They would miss deadlines most of the time.

Facing these challenges, they turned to technology for a solution. With their collective experience and expertise, the team created an all-in-one platform to deliver ethical, transparent link building services to users. At the same time, this startup changed its business name to NO-BS Marketplace, representing its no-nonsense approach to SEO, and expanded the team.

The platform’s launch was met with positive feedback. In its first year of operation, it netted AUD$500,000 in sales and posted a month-on-month growth rate of 10%. Nevertheless, even with the expanded team, demand soon outpaced its ability to fulfil orders.

The NO-BS platform underwent an overhaul in its second year of operation to accommodate more orders. Key upgrades include a more user-friendly interface and enhanced project management flexibility.

Also this year, the company opened its first office in Geelong, over an hour’s drive from Melbourne. It supported its expansion of services, namely account-managed link building.

Despite 2020 being the worst year of the century for most people, NO-BS Marketplace kept flourishing. The platform’s continued success allowed the company to set up shop in the heart of Melbourne and triple the size of its Australia-based team. Plans to introduce new features and services to the platform were in the works.

Stepping out of its comfort zone, the company rolled out its highly-anticipated content and SEO services. Clients can now submit requests for content creation and on and off-page SEO through the platform. Our in-house content team ensures these write-ups meet the highest standards of journalism while optimizing them with target keywords and links.

Additionally, to better coordinate operations with its largely overseas remote team, it closed its physical offices in Geelong and Melbourne.

As NO-BS Marketplace’s market value reached eight figures, it rolled out a series of upgrades for its already powerful platform. These include a more open publisher list and management of PR links, giving users more options. It also introduced a revamped discount structure, meaning spending more on links can help you save more.

As part of its next stage of expansion, NO-BS Marketplace entered the U.S. market by setting up hubs in some cities, one of which is in Louisville. While we’ve worked with countless US-based clients for years, setting up hubs close to them enables more effective collaboration and faster delivery of services.
