In 2014, with Aaron and Tristan Gray at the helm, a new digital agency called “Studio 56” emerged. It focused on providing SEO and targeted web services to help Melbourne-based businesses maximize discovery by local consumers searching online.

While still just in the beginning phases, the founders encountered common digital marketing problems across their clients. The key root causes were tied back to chronic deficiencies in link building.

After two years, the founders noticed a pattern of headaches in their new link-building business. Major pain-points included missing deadlines and the inability to review publisher links before going live.

The brothers decided to scale internally. They built and trained an in-house team that would help them manage all their link building campaigns. With this came the idea of selling link-building services directly to other agencies and affiliates.

Despite early positive results, it quickly became apparent that meeting demands would be an uphill task. Aaron and Tristan decided that the best solution to this problem would be to invest in better technology that can manage and scale the process.

In 2017, after substantial technology developments, our newly made NO-BS platform went live to the public. The year following witnessed tremendous success with over $500,000 in sales followed by a +10% monthly growth rate. This unexpected rapid growth forced the company to do another urgent team scaling internally. Aaron and Tristan brought in more writers and outreach members to help meet the demands.

Customer usage increased rapidly in just two years, prompting another urgent solution. The company invested over $100,000 upgrading our platform, a project that took six months. The new website delivered better experience and flexibility for all users.

In the same year, we opened a new office in Geelong, Victoria, Australia to expand our in-office staff. NO-BS Marketplace also launched account management services to provide hands-on assistance to our clients.

While almost everything came to a standstill in 2020 due to COVID-19, NO-BS Marketplace kept growing. The 100% revenue surge necessitated another internal scaling, with the founders opening another office in Melbourne and tripled the team. More expansion took place throughout the year in preparation for the launch of new products.

Having cemented its link-building prowess, the NO-BS team was ready for another challenge. It launched its SEO and content services to the public, offering more affordable and scalable options.

In 2024, NO-BS Marketplace began another phase of its growth by opening new hubs in various US cities, including Cincinnati. This new step was geared towards improving customer service and ensuring that clients received quicker and more personalized support.
