The predecessor to NO-BS Marketplace, Studio 56 was a digital marketing agency focused on delivering solutions to small and medium enterprises in the Melbourne area. However, various issues limited the success of their strategies, one of which was the lack of an ability to deliver effective and—more importantly—transparent link building.

As more problems like missed deadlines and critical capability gaps manifested, Aaron and Tristan decided to form and train their own team on link building. This reduced their reliance on third-party providers, some of whom might have used black-hat methods to earn links. They also expanded their clientele to include marketing agencies.

Their decision would prove right after selling over AUD$50,000 worth of links to clients over at Black Hat World, an online forum for SEO experts and enthusiasts. But then, they realized they couldn’t deliver on time, with orders taking three months on average to complete.

Years of experience and expertise helped when it came to the birth of the NO-BS Marketplace platform. This novel system grants users control over their link building efforts by allowing them to set up custom orders. Such a feature symbolized the company’s mission of providing transparent link building, as what you see is what you get.

The platform achieved huge success in its first year of operation, netting AUD$500,000 in total sales and growing by 10% month-on-month. Nevertheless, turnaround times remained problematic, with more clients signing up for the service.

For the next two years since the platform’s rollout, NO-BS Marketplace expanded its team to improve the speed at which they complete orders. Additionally, the platform itself underwent the first of many rebuilds to enhance its operational capacity. The project, which focused on improving user-friendliness and project management, cost AUD$100,000 and took six months.

That same year, the company opened its first brick-and-mortar office in Geelong, which is a stone’s throw away from Melbourne. Along with its opening also came the introduction of account-managed services, which let clients have one of our Account Managers handle their link building campaign on their behalf.

Everyone knows 2020 was a bad year with all that happened then. Despite this, the company registered enough growth to expand its team and even open a second office in Melbourne’s business district. The platform also received a new wave of upgrades in anticipation of the new line of services to be introduced next year.

The NO-BS platform later extended its capabilities beyond link building with the introduction of content and SEO services. Users could now create orders for on and off-page write-ups that adhere to the highest journalistic standards, complete with optimization compliant with current search quality guidelines.

With NO-BS Marketplace’s market value worth eight figures, it implemented another wave of upgrades to the platform. These included adding features like the open publisher list and PR links, making an already transparent way to do link building even more transparent. To attract more clients, it also revised its pricing structure to offer discounts for bulk orders.

In a prime position to expand beyond Melbourne, NO-BS Marketplace set up hubs in select Australian and U.S. cities, including Atlanta and Louisville. Expect more hubs to come soon.
